Macintosh is one of the most popular, all purpose cultivars for colder climates from Canada to the U.S.. It is known for being a heavy cropping tree, bearing fruit at the young age of 3-4 years. Macintosh is known to have very good resistance to CAR and Fireblight. We have seen limited impact from Scab on our trees, however, Scab is listed as a potential problem. This would be a good variety to add to your wildlife planting because of its ease and vigorous growth. Macintosh typically drops during the early fall season. Wildlife Species: Whitetail.
