Macoun

from $12.00

Macoun originates from Geneva, NY in 1923. Similar to Macintosh, it’s a very vigorous, cold hardy and a very heavy cropper. This tree is also very easy to grow and is resistant to CAR and Fireblight, with some susceptibility to Scab. Macoun is highly sought after for fresh eating and backing and ripens from September to October. With little guidance or trimming, this tree tends to naturally produce a heavy trunk with nice, uniform branching. We have observed high resistance to Japanese Beetles in our young tree orchard due to a thick leaf structure. This is a plus where beetles are a big problem. Wildlife Species: Whitetail.

Planting zones 4-10.
