Droptine™ Crabapple
Droptine™ is a large, hardy true yellow crab averaging 1 to 1.25-inches, with a drop period from late fall well into winter. This tree has high Fireblight resistance and good overall disease resistance. Additional attributes include self-pollination, very heavy, dense cropping, a vigorous growth rate and it’s known to be a well-anchored, semi-upright tree. Droptine begins to produce heavily at a very young age and shows crabs typically within the second year. Wildlife Species: Whitetail, Turkey, Birds.
Planting zones 4-8.
Orders with Premium and Large trees are typically shipped in a 7-foot (84”) box to accommodate size.
Our Premium trees are very similar to our 4'-6' large trees. These Premium trees are typically in the 6'-7' range and are starting to develop uniform feathering (6"-15" limbs).
Our 4'-6' trees are our standard large tree averaging 1/2" or greater in diameter. The trees have a well developed root system and average 5'-6'. in a typical field row, with the majority starting to develop some feathering. Trees that are not developing a limb structure yet are very solid whips.
Our 3'-4' and 2'-3' trees are smaller diameter trees averaging 3/8"-1/2" in diameter, with a strong root system. These are typically whips with a lower percentage of branching on some trees.
